Bot Appearance changes Shufen Bot's nickname, avatar, banner and "about me" text that show only on your server. Members see the bot with your server's name and colors; the bot's look on other servers doesn't change.

The window above shows the dashboard's profile preview: the new nickname, avatar, banner and about me text. In the chat next to it, the bot first posts a level message under its own name; once the appearance is applied, its name changes and the next message arrives under the new name.

WebP is not supported

Discord doesn't accept WebP for server-specific profiles. Save your image as PNG, JPEG or GIF.

Setup

Step 1

On the dashboard, pick your server on the My Servers page.

Step 2

Open the Bot Appearance card.

Step 3

Fill in the fields you want to change. Fields you leave empty stay the same. The profile preview updates as you type.

Step 4

Click Apply. The change is sent to Discord right away; the date of the last apply is shown on the dashboard.

To remove a single field, tick the box next to it:

  • Remove nickname (use global name)
  • Remove server avatar
  • Remove server banner
  • Remove "about me" text

To undo everything at once, click Restore Default. When you confirm, the bot's nickname, avatar, banner and about me text on this server are removed; the bot goes back to its global profile.

Preview first, then apply

Discord strictly limits avatar and banner changes. If you make many attempts in a short time, you may need to wait a few minutes. Check the image in the preview and apply it in one go.

Rate limit

The dashboard allows one change every 10 seconds for the same server. If Discord hits its own limit, the dashboard tells you how many seconds to wait.

Plan

MAX

Max and Max Plus

Bot Appearance requires the Max plan. Max Plus includes everything in Max, so it unlocks this system too.

View Plans

If the server's plan drops or the system is turned off, the bot automatically removes the server-specific avatar, banner and about me text at regular intervals and goes back to its global profile. The nickname is kept. When you renew your plan, you can apply the appearance again. Plans and activation are covered in the Plans and Premium guide.

Nickname permission

If the nickname isn't applied, the bot doesn't have the Change Nickname permission on the server. Give this permission to the Shufen Bot role under Server Settings → Roles.

Frequently asked questions

Does the bot's look change on other servers?

No. The change only shows on this server. On other servers the bot keeps its global name and avatar.

Can I use an animated avatar?

Yes. You can upload a GIF; it must be 8 MB or less.

Does it matter which image I upload?

The file type is checked by its content, not its extension. A file named .png that is actually WebP is rejected.

What happens when my plan ends?

The avatar, banner and about me text are removed automatically after a while; the nickname stays as it is. You can also reset right away with Restore Default on the dashboard; this button works without a plan.

A "Discord rate limit" error

Discord limits avatar and banner changes. Wait as long as the error message says and try again.

Dress the bot for your server

Open the Bot Appearance card, try it in the preview and apply it when you like it.
