Logs keep a record of what happens on your server: deleted or edited messages, member joins and leaves, bans and role changes, moderation actions and events from the bot's other systems. You choose which event goes to which channel, and every record is also stored on the dashboard.

In the window above, Leo posts an ad in #general and the message is deleted; the log channel receives whose message it was, which channel it was in and its content. Then Sam bans Leo; this time the moderator, the banned member and the reason are recorded. The bars at the top show how many records came from each system today.

What do you see in the log channel?

At the top of each log message is the system name, and the title is the event name. Who did it, who it was done to and which channel it happened in are shown on a single line with mentions. Info-level logs come in the color you choose, warnings in orange and critical ones in red.

Analytics alerts

Analytics & Moderator Feedback events, such as risk alerts, heated discussion alarms and possible alt accounts, don't appear as a separate row in the list. When a Main Log Channel is selected and you press Enable All, this category is turned on too and routed to the main channel.

Setup

Step 1

On the dashboard, pick your server on the My Servers page and click the Logs link in the top bar. The Log Settings page opens.

Step 2

On the System Settings tab, pick a text channel from the Main Log Channel list.

Step 3

On the Quick Bulk Actions card, press Enable All. If a Main Log Channel is selected, every system is routed to that channel.

Step 4

If you want each system in its own thread, press Set All to Thread; a thread is opened under the main channel for every enabled system.

Step 5

To customize a single system, turn on the switch in its row and press Configure: choose Separate Channel or Thread Mode, set the channel, the embed color and the Events to Track, then save.

SettingDefaultWhat it does

Embed ColorDiscord blurpleThe color of info-level log messages
Events to TrackAllThe events sent to Discord. If all are selected, events added later are included too.
Automod Notifications → Deletion timePermanentWhether the action notice automod posts in the channel stays, or is deleted after 30 or 60 seconds
Auto Cleaner → Retention periodOffDeletes dashboard records after 7, 14 or 30 days

The "x/y events · Mode" text in a system's row shows how many events are selected and the mode. A system with no channel assigned shows Not set and doesn't send logs to Discord.

The Main Log Channel isn't saved

The Main Log Channel is only used for bulk actions and Thread Mode; it's empty when you reopen the page. Select it again before running a bulk action.

Keep the log channel private

The content of deleted messages and moderation records are visible in the log channel. Set the channel so only staff can see it. The bot must be able to send messages there, and in thread mode, create threads.

The Audit Log tab

The Audit Log (Records) tab on the Log Settings page lists every record. At the top are the Last 24 Hours, Last 7 Days, Total Logs and severity counters. You filter with All Systems, All Severities and the search box, and see a row's details in the Log Details window.

  • When an event happens, a record is always written to the dashboard. If the system is on, a channel is assigned and the event is selected, it's also sent to Discord.
  • Voice join, leave and channel switch happen very often, so they're recorded only while General Logs is on, has a channel assigned and has these events selected.
  • Dashboard records older than 90 days are deleted automatically. The Auto Cleaner shortens this period and runs every night; it doesn't touch log messages in Discord.

Automod and Server Protection use their own channel

Automod's detailed action reports and undo buttons go to the log channel in the Automod settings, and alarms go to the log channel in the Server Protection settings. The Automod System row here is a separate, simple event record.

Frequently asked questions

Are logs paid?

No. Logs can be used on any server without a plan.

Who can open the logs page?

The server owner and admins added on the dashboard. The Logs link on the server page is visible only to them as well.

Are events not recorded at all while logs are off?

They are. Everything except voice events is written to the Audit Log tab; it just isn't sent to Discord.

Is there a Discord command for log settings?

No. Logs are managed only from the dashboard.

Logs aren't arriving

Check whether the system's switch is on, whether the row says Not set, and whether the event is selected. The bot needs permission to send messages in the log channel, and the channel must belong to this server.

Thread Mode won't save

First select the Main Log Channel in General Settings. If the thread was deleted or the main channel changed, use the Create Thread for This System Only button in the system's Configure screen.

Turn on logs

Pick a log channel, press Enable All and watch the first records come in.
