The giveaway system runs the giveaway you set up on the dashboard from start to finish. When the start time comes it posts a card in the channel, members join, and at the end time it picks winners at random, announces them and sends the winners a direct message.
The window above shows a Nitro giveaway: the bot posts the card in the channel, Alex clicks the Join button and gets a confirmation only he can see. When time is up, the bot announces the winners (Alex and Mia); the card on the right shows the log entry of the giveaway result.
Giveaways step by step
Entry methods

For voice giveaways you can count only certain voice channels if you like; if you leave it empty, all voice channels count. Voice giveaways have no entry fee, and level and balance requirements don't apply either; only the role requirement does.
Setup
Step 1
On the dashboard, pick your server on the My Servers page.

Open the Giveaway System card and enable the system.

Choose the Announcement Channel at the top. If you don't choose a separate channel for a giveaway, the card is posted here.
Step 4
In the Create New Giveaway section, fill in the name, the prize, the number of winners, the entry mode, and the start and end dates.
Step 5
If you like, open the Entry Requirements and Weight Settings sections, then click Create Giveaway.

Increasing the odds
The booster multiplier and the level weight increase a member's chance of winning but don't guarantee it. The draw is still random; the higher someone's weight, the more likely they are to be picked. The same person can't win twice in the same giveaway.
Managing a giveaway
The same card has Active Giveaways and Ended Giveaways lists. A server can have at most 10 pending or active giveaways at the same time.
- Cancel: Stops a pending or running giveaway. Members who paid an entry fee get their gold back.
- Re-roll: For an ended giveaway, picks new winners, leaving out the previous ones.
Direct messages to winners
At the end, each winner gets a direct message with the giveaway name, the prize and the server. A winner whose DMs are closed won't get this message; the channel announcement is still made.
Channel permissions
If the bot can't send messages in the channel you chose, the card can't be posted and the giveaway doesn't start. Make sure the bot has the Send Messages and View Channel permissions there. To record the results, you can set up a log channel as described in the Logs guide.
Giveaways wait when the system is off
If you turn the giveaway system off, running giveaways aren't cancelled; they wait where they are. When you turn the system back on, the ones whose time is up are finished at the first opportunity and winners are picked.
Frequently asked questions
Can I set up a giveaway that starts right away?
Yes. If you set the start date to the current time, the bot posts the card in the channel within half a minute at most.
How do members know they joined?
When they click the button, they get a confirmation only they can see, and the participant count on the card goes up. The same person can't join twice.
Which currency is the entry fee paid in?
Gold. If the member's balance doesn't cover the fee, they can't join. You can find out how gold is earned in the Economy guide.
Which level does the level requirement check?
The member's level on this server. Their level on other servers doesn't count. For the level system, see the Leveling guide.
What happens if nobody joins?
The giveaway ends with no winners; the card is updated to say there were no participants and no congratulations message is posted.
The card didn't appear in the channel
Check that the announcement channel is set and that the bot can send messages there. If the start time is in the future, the card is posted at that time.
