AI Chat lets you talk to Shufen Bot in natural language on your server. Just mention the bot or reply to its message; the bot writes a short AI answer and remembers the flow of the conversation.

In the window above, Alex mentions the bot and asks for a movie recommendation, then keeps going by replying to the bot's message; since the bot remembers the first question, it understands what he means when he says "the light one". At the end Alex types reset and the bot forgets the history. The AI answers are sample text; the reset reply is the bot's own message.

How to talk to it

The bot answers in these cases:

What you doWhat happens
You mention the bot@Shufen Bot can you recommend a movie? The bot answers as a reply to your message.
You reply to the bot's messageYou continue the conversation without mentioning it; the bot remembers the earlier messages.
You call the bot by its nameThe bot tries to tell whether the message is addressed to it or just talking about it. If people are talking about it, it doesn't jump in.
Your whole message is a greetingIt may also answer a standalone greeting like hi, hello, hey or gm. Sentences like "hi guys, is there a match on?" don't trigger it.

Reset the history

Mention the bot or reply to its message and type only reset, forget, sıfırla or unut. The bot says "Okay, I forgot our history. Let's start fresh!" and starts over from scratch.

Limits

  • Chat history is kept per person: the last 8 questions and answers. If you don't talk for 30 minutes, the history is cleared.
  • Your message can be up to 1000 characters. If it is longer, the bot says "Your message is too long, could you shorten it a bit?"
  • The bot is set to give short answers; it usually writes one or two sentences. A very long answer is cut off at 1900 characters.
  • If you write very quickly in a row, a short cooldown applies. Name calls and greeting triggers also have a per-channel cooldown; the bot doesn't answer everyone's greeting one by one in a busy channel.
  • If too many requests come in at once, the bot says "I'm very busy right now, could you try again shortly?"
  • AI Chat only works on servers; it doesn't answer in direct messages. It doesn't respond to messages containing @everyone or @here.

Why doesn't it always answer?

For name calls and greeting triggers, the bot stays quiet if the cooldown hasn't ended or the message doesn't seem to be addressed to it. Mentioning it or replying to it is always the surest way.

For admins

AI Chat is free and on by default. It needs no configuration; it can only be turned on or off:

Step 1

On the dashboard, pick your server on the My Servers page.

Step 2

Find the AI Chat card.

Step 3

Turn it off with Pause on the card, and turn it back on with Turn on.

SettingDefaultWhat it does
AI ChatOnIf you turn it off, the bot doesn't answer when mentioned, called by name, or greeted.

No channel restriction

AI Chat has no separate channel setting; the bot answers when mentioned in any channel it can post in. If you don't want it to talk in a certain channel, remove the bot's Send Messages permission there.

If the bot owner turns off AI centrally, AI Chat stops on all servers. In that case your dashboard setting stays the same; the bot just doesn't answer. For AI analytics on your server, see the AI Analytics Center guide.

Frequently asked questions

Does the bot remember me?

Only briefly. It keeps the last 8 questions and answers and forgets all of them if you stay quiet for 30 minutes. If the bot restarts, the history is reset too.

Does my conversation get mixed up when someone else is talking to the bot?

No. History is kept per person; everyone continues their own conversation.

What happens if I only mention the bot?

If there is nothing else in the message, the bot gives a short reply introducing itself and asking what you want to ask.

Does it answer every message that includes its name?

No. It doesn't jump in on sentences about the bot, like "Shufen was great today"; you need to address it for it to answer.

I get the reply "can't think right now, could you try again in a bit?"

The AI service can't be reached at the moment. Try again in a few minutes.

The bot doesn't answer at all

On the dashboard, check that the AI Chat card is turned on and that the bot can send messages in that channel. Then try mentioning the bot.
