The Stream Notification system checks at regular intervals whether the streamers you added have gone live. When a streamer goes live, it sends a card with the stream title, the game and a watch button to the notification channel.

In the window, Nova goes live on Twitch: the bot pings the role and sends a card with the stream title, the custom note and the game. In the evening, when Nova uploads a new video to YouTube, a separate video card is posted too.

Notifications step by step

One notification per stream

The card is sent once, the moment the streamer goes from offline to live. It isn't sent again while the stream continues; when the stream ends and starts again, a new card arrives.

How to add a streamer

PlatformWhat to enterExample
TwitchUsernameshroud
YouTubeChannel ID (starts with UC)UCxxxx…
KickUsernameusername

You can add a separate Custom Message for each streamer; this text appears in small print under the stream title on the card. A server can have up to 25 streamers, and the same streamer can't be added twice. Each streamer in the list has Test, Pause and Delete buttons next to it.

Find the YouTube channel ID

YouTube channels are added by the channel ID starting with UC, not by username. No API key is needed; scheduled streams are announced the moment they go live.

Setup

In the dashboard, pick your server on the My Servers page.

Step 2

App credentials for Twitch

The dashboard asks for a Client ID and Client Secret for Twitch notifications; without them, no notifications arrive for Twitch streamers. You can get them by creating an app at dev.twitch.tv.

Test first

After adding a streamer, click the Test button next to it. A test card goes to the notification channel; if no channel is selected, you get a "Notification channel is not set" warning.

Frequently asked questions

How long after the stream starts does the notification arrive?

The bot checks streamers as often as you set in Check Interval (2 minutes by default). The stream is caught at a check within that interval and the card is sent at that moment.

Does the ping role ping everyone?

No. The notification only pings the role you chose; @everyone and other roles aren't pinged. If you don't pick a role, the card is sent without a ping.

Can I mute a streamer temporarily?

Yes. Click the Pause button next to the streamer in the list; turn it back on with Activate. Paused streamers aren't checked.

Is every video uploaded to YouTube posted?

If "Also announce new videos" is on, yes: new videos on the channel are posted with a video card. If you turn it off, only live streams are announced.

The streamer is live but no notification arrived

Check that the notification channel is selected, the bot can write in that channel and the streamer isn't paused. For a Twitch streamer, make sure the Client ID and Secret are entered correctly. For YouTube, you need the channel ID starting with UC, not the channel name.

Set up stream notifications

Choose the notification channel, add your first streamer and try it with Test.
