Channel Lock closes a channel or the whole server to messages. Staff do it manually with /lock; Night mode locks the channels you choose at set hours every day, and the Raid lock locks the whole server automatically during a mass join.

In the window above, the argument between Kai and Leo drags on. Alex types /lock in the channel; only he sees the reply, while a note with the reason and the reopening time is posted in the channel. The second window shows the note posted in a channel locked by night mode.

Locking step by step

Commands

/lock [kanal] [sure] [sebep] [sunucu]

If you don't choose a channel, the channel you type the command in is locked. The reason can be up to 200 characters and is shown in the channel.

/lock server:True

Locks every channel @everyone can see and post in, all at once.

/unlock [kanal] [sunucu]

Unlocks the channel. With the server option, it removes every lock on the server.

By default both commands are visible to people with the Manage Channels permission, and their replies are only visible to the person using them. Text, announcement and forum channels can be locked.

How do I write the duration?

You typeMeaning
30mReopens in 30 minutes
2hReopens in 2 hours
1dReopens in 1 day
08:00Reopens at 08:00 (Turkey time; the next day if it has passed)
EmptyStays locked until a staff member opens it

The shortest duration is 1 minute, the longest 30 days.

What exactly does a lock do?

In the channel's @everyone permissions, the bot turns off Send Messages, Send Messages in Threads and creating public or private threads. The setting from before the lock is saved; when unlocked, only these four permissions go back to how they were, and the channel's other permissions are left alone.

Staff can keep posting

Roles that have been explicitly granted the Send Messages permission in the channel can still post in a locked channel. That way staff can make announcements in a locked channel.

Setup

The system is free; /lock needs no setup. For night mode and the raid lock:

Step 1

On the dashboard, pick your server on the My Servers page.

Step 2

Open the Channel Lock & Night Mode card.

Step 3

For night mode, tick the Night mode enabled box, enter the start and end times, and choose the Channels to lock at night.

Step 4

If you like, tick the Lock the server when a raid is detected box and enter the lock duration.

Step 5

Click Save.

SettingDefaultWhat it does
Post a note in locked channelsOnA note with the reason and reopening time is posted in the locked channel; the note is deleted when the lock is lifted
Night mode enabledOffThe selected channels are locked between the given hours every day
Start (TR) / End (TR)02:00 / 08:00The night lock hours, in Turkey time. They can't be the same.
Channels to lock at nightNoneNight mode needs at least one channel (up to 50)
Lock the server when a raid is detectedOffWhen Anti-Raid triggers, every channel everyone can post in is locked
Lock duration (minutes)10The length of the raid lock (1–1440); it reopens on its own at the end

The Currently locked channels list at the bottom of the card shows why each channel is locked (Manual, Night mode, Raid) and when it will reopen. If you click Open, the bot opens the channel within 30 seconds.

The raid lock depends on automod

The raid lock works with the Anti-Raid protection in the Automod settings. If Anti-Raid is off, the raid lock never triggers.

Bot permissions

To lock a channel, the bot needs the Manage Channels and Manage Permissions permissions. Channels where its permissions fall short are listed separately in the /lock reply.

Frequently asked questions

Can I lift the night lock without waiting for morning?

Yes. You can open it with /unlock or from the list on the dashboard. A channel you open early isn't locked again that night.

Is a note posted when night mode ends?

Night and raid locks reopen quietly when their time is up, and the lock note is deleted. The "Channel unlocked." note is only posted when /unlock is used or when a manually set timed lock runs out.

What happens if I lock a channel that is already locked?

The channel isn't locked a second time; the reply says how many channels were already locked.

What happens to locked channels when I turn night mode off?

If you turn night mode off or remove a channel from the list, that channel's night lock is lifted shortly after.

Error "This channel type can't be locked"

Only text, announcement and forum channels can be locked. Voice channels and threads can't be locked.

Error "I couldn't understand the duration"

Write the duration like 30m, 2h or 1d. You can give up to 30 days.
