/privacy is a single panel for your data and privacy preferences. You see which data is kept and for how long, change your Year in Review and matchmaking preferences, and delete your personal analytics if you want. Only you can see the panel.

The privacy panel step by step

Commands

/privacy

The privacy panel. Only you can see it. Also works in DMs.

/mydata

Shows how many records are kept about you on this server. No message text is shown, only counts. Only works in a server.

Preferences are per server, deletion covers all

Year in Review and matchmaking preferences only apply to the server where you run the command. Delete my data covers every server the bot is in.

Year in Review (Rewind) preferences

PreferenceDefaultWhat it does
Card visibilityPrivatePrivate: the card is only for you. Friends: only sent to your friends by DM. Public: can be shared in a channel; sensitive numbers stay hidden.
Partner nameOffWhether your closest partner's name appears on the shared card. You always see it in your own private recap.
Exact balanceOffWhether your balance appears as an exact number on the shared card. When off, a percentile is shown instead.
Monthly recap DMGeneral setting unless you choseA short recap message sent in the first days of each month. You can turn it on or off.

Opting out of Rewind deletes data

Opt out and delete my data doesn't just set a flag. Your yearly stats, duo records, achievements, duo consents and delivery records on this server are permanently deleted. You can come back with Opt back in, but the deleted history doesn't come back.

How Year in Review works is explained in the Rewind guide.

What does Delete my data cover?

DeletedNot deleted
Writing fingerprint and the alt-account reports derived from itYour moderation records (warnings, punishments)
Behavior and personality analysis, toxicity events, sentiment historyYour economy and level data
Activity counters (messages, voice, games) and social signalsYour invite data
Risk and churn scores, sessions, interaction countersYour Year in Review data (you delete that from the Year in Review section)

In critical safety records, self-harm and age-statement records are deleted; in the others, the message text is cleared. This cannot be undone.

Retention periods

The Retention section shows how many days each type of data is kept: message and sentiment counters, toxicity event records, interaction pairs, game time, music listening, critical safety records and so on. The two records that contain text are listed on separate lines with a warning: the toxic message preview and the behavior note the AI wrote about you.

  • Expired records are cleaned up automatically.
  • Year in Review data is kept per year and is deleted from the Year in Review section.
  • The writing fingerprint is kept indefinitely; it is deleted with Delete my data.

Using it in DMs

You can also run /privacy in a DM with the bot. There, the server-specific Year in Review and matchmaking sections aren't shown; you can see retention periods and delete your data.

Frequently asked questions

Can others see my preferences?

No. Replies to /privacy and /mydata are only visible to you.

What's the difference between /mydata and /privacy?

/mydata only shows things: how many records you have in each category on this server. /privacy changes preferences and does the deletion. The delete button in /mydata leads to the same deletion flow.

How long does data deletion take?

It starts right after you confirm, and you see the result in the same panel: fingerprints deleted from how many servers and how many analytics records. If a data type can't be deleted at that moment, it is named; you can try again.

Are my messages being read?

Most counters only store numbers and dates. Records that contain text are listed separately with a warning in the Retention section. All of them are deleted with Delete my data.

It says "Session expired"

The panel closes after a while without use. Run /privacy again.
